Ed Miliband risks potential embarrassment after it emerged one of his key advisers doesn’t pay UK tax on his earnings in the country
David Axelrod, who was crucial in getting US president Barack Obama elected, told the Telegraph he was not a resident in Britain, which meant his estimated £300,000 wage was not subject to a charge in the country.
Labour admitted the American worked from the US so his earnings were taxed over there.

This is after Miliband made the issue of foreigners not paying their fair amount of tax a key one in Labour’s manifesto.
Some MPs from the party were already reportedly concerned Axelrod was not proving to be value for money because he had not really been ‘visible’ over the past few weeks.
